Intern Community Minister, Mary Knight
2004

Mary Knight was Eastrose Community Ministry Intern in 2004 under the supervision of Rev. Sue Matranga-Watson.

At that time she was a Candidate for UU Ministerial Fellowship and was completing a year’s residency as Chaplain at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Clinical Pastoral Education.

Her focus in ministry is Spiritual Care in the healthcare setting.  She has a passion for working with families of all kinds and for cross-cultural communications

Mary was then a third year student at Marylhurst University (West Linn, OR) in the Master of Arts program in Applied Theology (MAAT.)  She also was completing a Master of Divinity equivalency.

Mary's sermon at Eastrose on June 27, 2004, was titled "Simple Gifts: Peanuts' Solace for the Soul"

Where does one find happiness and how can we "fill our cup" in a world that is so often harsh and brutal? We seek some insight from the works of cartoonist Charles M. Schultz as well as reflections from other "pint-size prophets."
