The people got tired of
Scientists who taught
Them evolution.
They decided to dismiss
The evidence and
Believe what they liked.
They no longer voted
For politicians who
Told the truth, they
Preferred those who
Told them what they
Wanted to hear.
They no longer went
To church to hear
Sermons on peace
And justice, they
Found the faith
Healers on TV to
Be more entertaining.
