President’s Blog

Eastrose is community; it is fellowship. Eastrose is us! We just finished our annual canvass to raise money for staffing, daily operations and maintenance. Thank you all for your generosity.

It also takes people contributing their time and talent for Eastrose to provide all the things we want and need from our church. Thank you all who do this now. We could sure use more helpers! Please take a minute right now and consider how you might help your church.

Sunday Services—lots of ways to help out:

  • Bring Flowers — sign up on the sheet in the lobby
  • Greet arrivals — Ask a greeter or contact Lynne Pfeiffer
  • Be a Worship Leader – we’ll train you — ask any worship leader or email worship@eastrose.org.
  • Help with the children’s programs — Ask Tara Toler or email familyministry@eastrose.org
  • Help with music — lead songs or sing a solo, play an instrument, be a substitute pianist—talk to Mary Reese or email music@eastrose.org
  • Make coffee — Very important service! Sign up on the sheet in the lobby
  • Clean up after coffee time or pot lucks — Sign up on the sheet in the lobby

Do you like to decorate, have an eye for aesthetics for the chapel and lobby?

Can you help out in the office?

Are you willing to help with hospitality for special events (like memorials)?

If you answered YES to any of the last three questions, contact Shari@eastrose.org. She’ll get your name to the right person.

Lastly, there’s a special short-term project you may be interested in. I’m putting together a team to prepare for welcoming our new minister. She’s moving into her office in July, and she’ll be on the job August 1, preaching her first sermon on August 6. Send me an email if you are interested.

Hoping to hear from you soon,

Cynthia Hopkins
