Do women deserve rights and a voice in society? This quest has been a struggle for centuries. Two systems in our country shape an answer to this seemingly straightforward question. In one, we are fully entitled, and in the other, we’re not or we’re threatened to have whatever equality we currently have stripped away. Rabid right-wing podcasters, pastors, and politicians are asserting that women should not have the right to vote, should forfeit reproductive rights and in an especially horrifying example, be sent to breeding gulags. Gender has always been a throughline in fascist politics. As we begin women’s history month, we’ll ask: How can we and how must we respond as misogyny goes more and more mainstream in America?
