Be Your Own Joy Advocate

In her upcoming talk, “The Joy Crazy Life,” Shannon Diffenderffer, M.Ed, explores how joy is not something we find, but something we practice—by honing our abilities to shine, learn, and connect. Shannon Diffenderffer, M.Ed., is the founder of Joy Crazy®, a joyful learning community built around pickleball.

Why pickleball? Pickleball is fun, easy to learn and naturally social. It brings together people of all abilities and backgrounds—and serves as a joyful antidote to the loneliness epidemic. Shannon sees it as a powerful way to move, laugh, and belong.

Born with microtia atresia—without a right ear and jaw development—Shannon has spent her life navigating the healthcare system and living with other chronic conditions. These experiences have deepened her empathy for her students, many of whom are learning new skills while managing their own health or life challenges.
