Over the last few hundred years, we have built technologies that increasingly isolate us. AI is just the latest one, and unlike with the golem, there is no command that will kill it. It is here to stay. So how do we respond? One way is to strengthen our bonds of community.

Rev. Barbara Stevens is a community minister affiliated with Eastrose. She works as a hospital chaplain at Kaiser Medical Center. After she retires at the end of this month, she plans to dedicate herself to completing the speculative fiction series she is writing and spending more time with her two grandchildren.
