The great spiritual traditions all tell us to love our neighbor. However, in this political moment, it isn’t easy. Some of our neighbors infuriate, distress, and embarrass us. It feels like a great leap to try and love them. In this service, we will explore ways to break through to love those we find disagreeable.
Reverend Katie Larsell is a retired community minister. She is a long-time member of Eastrose and currently serves as the volunteer coordinator for Third Act Oregon, an organization for those over 60 who work against climate change and for democracy. She is also a practicing Buddhist.
