Eastrose is debuting a new service format titled Spiritual Touchstones on the fourth Sunday of every month. September’s topic will be “Justice – The Long Arc.”
This is a quieter, more intimate format. It features opening words, chalice lighting, a reading, and a Story for All Ages. The congregation then forms into three groups and meets in different rooms to discuss several questions lead by facilitators. We rejoin in the chapel to pass the basket, sing our gratitude song, extinguish the chalice, and say the benediction.
Simplicity is a key element in this new format. The congregation will sing a cappella. The service will be in person only — not projected, recorded or live-streamed. Musicians and AV personnel will not be present.
